Here is an article about the outstanding Oakland duo Silian Rail.

The East Bay Express says they have a surprisingly wide appeal. Ramon says… what’s surprising about it?? Memo to the world at large: instrumental music has been appealing since the history of humans… especially when played by such badass folks as Eric Kuhn and Robin Landy. (See for yourself at their CD Release show May 3 at Bottom of the Hill.)

Thanks to Andy Gilbert and SF Chronicle editors for mentioning Ramon & Jessica and including this little quote about Switchboard Festival coming up April 1.

“I exist in a couple of different musical worlds, like many of us do,” Maccabee says. “Projects tend to get lumped into singer-songwriter versus composer, but really, what is the difference? I was very happy Switchboard decided to overlook the whole notion of Composer with a capital ‘C.’ ”
